Ages: 11 - 13
Torch Club is a small group of club members aged 11 - 13 who engage in programs, community services projects, and fundraisers. The program provides youth with the opportunity to engage in positive activities, meet new people, and build self-esteem, good character, and gain leadership skills. Service to the Community
Torch club has done 4 community service projects:
Volunteers of America
- Torch Club members volunteered in the soup kitchen, serving drinks, food, dessert, and snacks.
The Lansing Ronald McDonald House
- Torch Club members provided cleaning services including mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing, and the sanitizing of kids' toys.
Michigan State University Housing Department
- The housing department hosted an Easter carnival for international students. Torch Club members assisted the international students with preparing and decorating Easter eggs. The club members also helped with the Easter egg hunt and clean up.
Safe Place Cell Phone Drive
- Safe Place is a Michigan State University domestic violence shelter. Torch Club members participated in the Safe Place's cell phone drive, by collecting used cell phones to be refurbished by Verizon Wireless.
